Just how rare are the 84-85 Kawasaki KXT 250 Tecate 3 wheelers ?

Wanting to know just how rare and hard to find are the 84-85 Kawasaki KXT 250 3 wheelers ? Also how rare are the red Tecate 3 wheelers you see in the old brochures ? What are they worth in good to very good running condition ?

They're fantastic machines. It's worth whatever someone is willing to pay.

A nice running 84-85 that needs nothing should bring around $1200 - $1600 outside of CA and AZ. 1/2 price there.

I've had my red 85 on CL locally (Austin TX) for a month at $2500 with 0 calls as expected. I'm on the fence about selling it so...

I don't know because I've never seen any production numbers but I don't believe the red ones are any more rare than the green ones.

In the past few years, I've had 5:
Green (?) 85 I bought for $100 with no engine, tank, seat or rear fenders but had a green Maier front fender. Parts donor.
Green. 85 I bought in CA for $800, green faded OEM plastics, supposed o be a 300cc engine. It ran great. Needed chain and sprockets. Bought it on a Friday in Orange County, rode it untouched at Buttercup the next day on the way back to TX. Sold for $1200 and I wish I'd kept it. The only ATV I regret selling...
Green 85 I bought not running in Houston. Green. Needed a stator & rings and bearings and chain and brakes etc. It was really a pile. I tore it to the frame and refinished and sold it for $1700.
Red 85 I bought in OK for $600 I think. Red. Needed brakes, chain & sprocket, etc but ran great. Also a frame up refinish. It's the one in the pics.
Red 84 I bought near Houston for $400. Red. Runs but needs a lot of TLC. Plastics are on the one in the pics. This one is in the queue for a frame up.

The green one I bought in CA was a great deal. It's the only one that didn't really need any work except the chain and sprockets.
