    Exclamation VIN location Yamaha Tri Moto 125

    I have a 80-85 Tri Moto and im trying to locate the Vin number. I found this 5V6 001 443 located on the frame behind the headlight. Is this the VIN number and can I find the year by this number, When I called Yamaha dealership they said it has to have more digits. Can anyone help me on this situation.

    He didnt have the title to it but the bike is 25+ years old and im sure its possible to lose this.

    Yes that is the location of the vin number. And your wheeler is a 1982 according to this post here.

    And I have checked in my repair book and it says vins starting with 5v6 is 1982.
    I read something in the past about 80-84 trikes have shorter vin numbers. In 85 they added more numbers to the vins. Hope this helps.
