Don't worry about the number, the oem part number won't match what is stamped on the carb. Partzilla lists a #35 pilot and anywhere from 100-120 for a main for your bike. Also, my 79 XR185 has the same size carb as a 200, stamped PD-31AAQJ9, with a 130 main and a mystery pilot (no size stamped). Hope that helps, maybe someone with a factory XR manual will chime in.

beautiful help guys thanks very much. i took the carb back off and the jets are 35 and 115.
i found the slide was not going all the way in easily and sometimes not at all. it didnt look like anything was wrong though so i was puzzled, tried to clean it with carb cleaner still sticky finally i thought the guide pin for the slide looked a lil strange so i got a small file and ran it on the edges of the pin to clean them up and it slides in much better now

really appreciate the help, now i have to wait til tomorrow to test her out

anyway i guess sometimes the carb body can get warped, hope thats not the problem

but i have another problem where the kickstarter likes to not catch on the gears... i split the engine down and have it seperated right now but honestly the teeth dont look bad will get a picture here in just a minute

well i found some threads on the 200x kicker but ill throw up a pic or too anyway

here are some pics of the bad teeth probably going to go to my local atv/motorcycle shop tomorrow see if they have any better gears

all the 200x and xr200s get this issue, you need to have the gears backcut and a shim spacer put in. I have 2 set of shim spacers yet, once you do this you never have the issues again. I finaly got outta these motors due to this issue, the higher the compression you build them the more noticeable you see this and need this corrected. yagerb on here can get your gears fixed up for ya, send him the set and he will have a machine shope fix them, he did it to mine build 200x motor.

Slight possibility is the needle is bent. To check it, take it out and roll it between your fingers, or by the end on the edge of the table, and you will see or not see a slight wobble. It doesnt take much to bend them, and it doesnt take much of a bend to screw things up.
