    Jetting question lifan 110

I put together 4 ATC 70s with Lifan 110CC E start auto clutch engines in them and 22MM Chineese knock off carbs,. I am having a bear of a time keeping them running. They need a lot of choke to start, then they seem to run to lean at idle and pop out the exhaust on deceleration., Its a pain as when kids are out riding them I have to chase them around and fiddle with them. I am a noob when it comes to tuning small motors and any help would be appreciated, so Far I've adjusted the needle to its highest setting but I'm thinking the primary jet may be too lean? Anybody have and baseline jet #s for sea level? there are no numbers stamped on the jets I have so I don't know where I'm at now. If it came down to it I would buy different carbs if they worked better. Thanks in advance, Murf

Here's mine with a Loncin 110 estart. I built this in 08 and I just finished a refresh on it and literally just finished putting the wheels back on it but I have run it already. I did fatten up the jetting a bit on it. It always ran just a tad on the lean side so I fattened up the carb going up 5 sizes on the main and 3 sizes on the slow jets. The stock jetting that came with the carb was 75 main and 32 on the slow so I went up to an 80 on the main and 35 on the slow. It did make a difference!!!! I haven't ridden it yet but all my preliminary engine runs were good.

I think the 125 in Potty Quad 1 was jetted around 40 on the slow jet and 95 on the main jet. That sucker ran great. Open "K&N" style air filter and Chinese pit bike pipe.

Did they come with 20mm carbs stock? How well did they run with those?

I buddy of mine built one with a Lifan 120 and it came with a 19mm and it ran like crap. I installed a 22mm carb and totally changed the way it ran. 22-25mm seems to be the zone for the 110/120cc motors. Be sure to size the intake tube to the carb.

One thing occurs to me. Pull the carbs off and make sure they didn't send you a 19mm intakes with the 22mm carbs. The intake needs to be sized to the carb. When I switched carbs on my buddies 70, I was looking for a low profile 22mm intake. I finally found one but the plastic spacer ended up being a 25mm spacer. I was afraid that wouldn't provide a good seal but it did.
