will the 83 swing arm work on the 82 250r? if so are there any pros/cons

I'm pretty sure it will not as they are two very different styles of suspension. I don't know for a fact though.
Like Fabio said to different types of suspension. The 83 is Pro-Link 82 is not. I know for a fact that the pivot bolt portion on the 83-84 is wider than the 82.I looked into this years ago. I have one of each gen 250r.

If you need an 82 swingarm I have a very nice Westcoast +3 that I'm thinking about selling. It's not cheap though.

Isn't every year for the 1st and 2nd gen 250R rear suspension different from the previous? I thought 83 and 84 were different as well
Every year is different. Most aftermarket swingarms for 1st gen work for both drum and disk brake.
Are there any other options for replacement? My swinger is all cracked up. I know this thread is old but figured I'd give it a shot
You can find a good used OEM piece or an expensive Calfab or Westcoast or whatever you find, or make your own.
