Chinese clones are popular choices. 110-160cc GY6

Yes, I've read they are for the ATC70 but not so much for the ATC90, as far as I could tell. Then the electric start seems to br on the way of the original frame. Guessing that cutting theframe for it to fit would weaken it too much. I rather have it than not, but spending on mods more than in buying a new vehicle isn't possible at the moment.

They had a clone that had a bottom electric start and four speed auto, but seems everyone is out of stock on it now, maybe no longer made not sure. There was some issues with the intake and carb angle too if i remember right. If you got a motor thats got good cases, no holes from chain slap etc, i would just rebuild the top end on it and keep it.

You can buy a adapter bracket for the Chinese motor to fit that atc 90 frame. Not certain how well they work I just have seen it used on a ct90.

Does the atc90 have the same bolt pattern as the 70. I built a Honda based 184cc motor that bolted into a atc125m. I didn't have the head stay but other then that it bolt in. The wiring was a little different but not hard to figure out.

The china motors are the way to go with the little atcs. I have a zs155 modified to a 184cc monster. This this thing is a blast to ride in the sand pits.

What do you think about this?

It sounds perfect as a new engine for an ATC90 original frame. Horizontal, Bottom Electric Starter (the Top would mean cutting the frame) and REVERSE! Is it possible?

Now I've found a 125 engine with bottom starter and reverse that would also fit the ATC90 frame with almost no modification (it seems). But can anyone tell me if these people and these engines are reliable? No brand. They have at least two different sites that seem to be the same thing. Unfortunately the reputable stores don't carry this type of engine.

    Any input highly appreciated!

I'm just not seeing it as a bolt into the 90 with this motors. Being they will bold into a 70 and a 90? They must be talking the newer small foot print motors like the 70. If you can get that adapter to be able to bolt the motor in they'd work.

Yes, you mean DrATVs adapter, right? I'm counting on it once I can get an engine.
But what do you think about the reverse, can it work with the 90 chain as is?
