All part of riding on three in a four wheel world.

In my area there are miles of trails along a river flats..after the spring flood and inevitable mud bath when it all dries solid it a major challenge to ride these trails without dropping your steering into a deep rut you can't steer out of..damned quads!!

    Ride the hump brother!!!

Doing away with the fat OEM tire for something like I detailed in this thread helps a lot!

depending on how deep the ruts are, i usually stick the front tire in the ruts and and ride the back on the tops if im going up hill. makes it effortless to climb. I have quads and trikes, i like both. Its all for the love of off roading! doesnt really matter what you do it on, there should be camaraderie between you and other riders. They look down on you for your equipment, than find other riders to go with or buy a different machine if it bothers you. I dont care what anyone thinks about me or my machines, i ride because i love to

Wether on 2, 3 or 4, I have fun on all of em. I don't currently own any 2-wheelers, but I have a couple of quads.

But there is a nostalgic, hot-rod, cool, fun-factor I get when running my R that I ust don't get as much on my z440...

Here's my old '84 Big Red doing some heavy lifting for me. What a stout hearted little workhorse!

And with my R being a full 52" wide, she is VERY capable on windy, fast gravel roads.....

Every year at Trikefest we have someone come up to us on his quad and say he has an old trike sitting in his shed or garage or basement that he hasnt thought about in years.. usually he has that trike w him the next year!!
Youd be surprised how many guys forgot how much fun it is to ride an old 3 wheeler!

On the twisty 50" trails i tare the quads up with all my three wheelers i realy like the looks i get when im leaving them in the dust on my crasy little suzuki 185alt "mayday" but on the wider mixed traffic trails my buds with the quads take me. just tell em anything with four wheels u r suposed to ride in not in not on. lol and i remember when u saw more trykes on the trail then anything the good old days.

lol well firstof all thank you for reviving this crusty old thread!
i havent really done alot of non solo riding so i dont know how it stacks up to some other quads. i know my speed crazed father-in-law cant seem to keep up on the trails in his own back yard! and he rides a kawi prairie 700 4x4. i also know i've seen him spinning in 4x4 where red could just billy-goat right through!
i dont know like someone said in a prior post i'm finally looking at 3 wheels as an advantage and not a disadvantage. so i've really sunk some capital in the 250es lately!

We have had 3 and 4 wheelers, also dirtbikes. I like them all. Currently I don't have a quad and I am not missing them. I simply enjoy riding my trikes and looking for parts and more trikes. I showed guys at work pics of my 350X and they didn't even know such a beast existed. I bought a 83 Big Red for $250 that I have rode for 3 years now , try to find a running quad for that price, little lone be able to go where I have run that old 200. Trike are just cool!
