Silver Honda wheel paint color

I need to paint a few SX wheels, they're for my 86. What's the closest match for the factory silver that's on those wheels? My bike is all stock and I want it to look as original as possible. I'm looking for a spray can too. No paint gun stuff. Thanks.

Here's what I do:
Hit it with primer.
Then 2-3 coats of regular Rustoleum silver (or Krylon, whichever).
Then a couple coats of clear coat over that.
It's not a perfect match, but it's pretty darn close.

I haven't yet found a good match and I've tried lots of different ones. It always ends up being too metallic and silver looking and not gray

I use ed metal silver. It has great adherence properties and its tough. It does have a "ed metal" texture which hides imperfections - you won't need primer with this spray paint.

Rustoleum High Performance Wheel Paint I believe.It doesn't have that chrome look to it.A tad to bright but not much.Guy who came to looked at my 85 250sx said he couldn't believe how well the paint held up after all these years.

Here is my 70 wheels that I sprayed with VHT spray bomb. Like rdlsz24 said most paints looked to metallic or silver not gray. So what I did was a base coat of semi-gloss black with a silver top coat. I cannot remember the shade of silver, I will look and post when I get home from work.

Like keister mentioned, if the paint is too silver or bright you can apply some clear and it will tone it down a lot. If you can paint all three wheels at the same time it should look good. I have used "aluminum" color rustoleum and then clear coat with good results.

Ya, my bike's bone stock and staying that way asshat. You can enjoy your shiny rims while you're changing out all of your bearings in that leaky rear end of yours.

I took a look at the wheel I offered you and I think mr clean is onto something. There is a few chips in the paint and it's clear that its black primer underneath. The duplicolor "silver"wheel paint is a good color match but the metal flakes are much bigger giving a more metallic finish. I compared the wheel to all the silver paint I had and that was the closest in color. The wheel was however a dead match to the 85 t3 silver if that helps. I do remember a thread with paint matches for that.

I confirmed the black was VHT 600 degree satin black, but I did not have any silver left over. I will have to go to my FLAPS (Friendly Local Auto Parts Store) and verify which silver it was, I will post the results.
