more top speed from a early 90s trail boss 250?

hey guys, kind of new to the racing and speed scene in the atv world, always been more interested in torque and traction instead of horsepower and speed. but anyways i have a old 89-92 (around there) 250 2 stroke polaris, now the thing is kind of a pig for a 2 stroke. what i was wondering is what can i do to it to make it a little faster? top speed now is around.... 52? 55? no more then 55 though. what should i do to the sprockets, how about air intake and carburetor mods? any help is appreciated. id like to pull 60-70mph if possible.

I would say that is fine. How many times are you going to be able to open it up that much in the trails? If you really want more speed, you could try sprockets. But honestly, I would just get a machine that is meant to go fast.
