200x skid plate?????

OK I decided to buy a new rear grab bar and swing arm skid plate from PRM. I ordered the correct year 83-85 but the skid plate no where near fits. Has anyone mounted one of these? Am I missing a part on my swing arm that boke off before I bought it? It didn't have one when I bought it, But I thought it would be nice to have one on it.

Any help appreaciated.

do you have the mounts on the bottom of your swingarm? There should be two of them with four bolts (two bolts/mount). Pictures would help as well.

OK I think I am missing part of the swingarm. researched a picture from PRM and it looks like there is a piece in the middle of a 200x swing arm that hangs down about 2". Anyone have pictures of the underside of a stock arm?

Very common for first-gen X swingarms to have the skid mounts broken off.

OK Here is a question for someone who has a swingarm with the mounts in place. What is the distance off the arm to the top of the mounting brackets?

Mine is missing where it bolts to also. It looks like it wouldn't be too hard to weld some flat steel bars in place of where the stock ones went, drill holes in them, and use nuts on the back side.

Better yet tap the steel and don't use nut's at all.. I used 1/4" thick by 1" wide strips of steel heated and bent them to fit and welded them on. I broke the OEM mounts and never had an issue with the new ones. Lots of rocks on the trails we ride on.

they break off cuz they were crap. have some nice bosses welded on. Im goin to use a 400ex skid plate made by pro armor, no it wont fit oem so no asking if it does lol

So they fit? I just made them fit, it wasn't a big deal. I guess I like to fabricate things though. If you keep a 3/4" gap between the bottom of the swing arm and the skid pan mounts it will be fine.

83 and 84-85 swing arms are different just to let you know an 83 pan will not bolt on an 84 and vice versa trust me i tried

Anyone have a picture of the swing arm with brackets and no plate?????? Are they 45% or 90% on the ends?

90% would be less math to do
