    !!!Engine HELP!!!

I need some help with a 1977 atc 90. I put a new head on and now i can't seem to get the cam in the right way. Everytime i put it in and bolt the head down down and if i pull the pull start when the piston is at TDC the exhast valve is all the way open and the two will hit and the piston won't move until i loosen up the bolts on the head. I know there is a T/F mark on the flywheel but i don't see where to line it up. Also Im not real sure which way to put the cam back in so that it is opening the valves at the right time.

    Any Advice???

With the piston all the way at the top install the cam with the lobes pointing straight down. That should be about dead on.

So the lobes will point down when you are looking in the rocker arm cover?

Down meaning toward the piston not the ground.

Piston at TDC , cam lobes pointing down towards the piston. This is TDC of the compression stroke. If you turn the engine in normal rotation, the piston will go down , then when it reaches the bottom, the exhaust valve will open.

Man,,, I am getting so frustrated with this thing. I have it way out of time. I have put the cam in 20 different ways. The same thing every time, i put it back together and i get no compression because the valves are opening at the wrong time. One time i event got compression coming out of my intake. Does anybody know these 90 and 110 engines well enought to tell me exactly how to put the damn thing back in.
