who makes and sells a quality carb cleaner to soak my carb in overnight before the rebuild ?

Most of the stuff I have seen came in a 5 gallon bucket, and was usually at a tractor supply or hardware store. It usually had a pretty heafty price tag also, $60 plus. I couldnt find it in a smaller amount in my area, so I bought a gallon of what looks like simple green, but it says parts cleaner on the label. I've used it to soak some cases that were heavily caked in crud. It worked real good, and wont harm the rubber or plastic on a carb like the other solvents will.
I have also heard of guys using diesel fuel or acetone as a cleaning/soaking solvent with good results. Maybe worth a try?

i used sea-foam before. it loosened up all the crud but still needed an aircompressor to blow the rest out.

I have used the Berryman's in the one gallon size. Available at auto parts stores. It has a basket you put all your parts in and dip it in. It was about $20. I wouldn't put anything plastic or rubber in there though. Don't leave it in there for more than a day, probably just overnight. I left my 70 carb in there for 2 or 3 days (forgot about it) and it turned dark grey and kind of chalky.

Soak it in a gallon jug of Acetone, it's cheap and what's mostly found in Carb cleaner. Strip the carb down before you soak it. Some of the older gallon cans of carb cleaner were pretty harsh on the brass if you left it in too long.

2 spray cans, some compressed air and some acid (small brushes) as well as brass brushes will do it. Remove every jet, soak them and remove every plastic part. Lay it all out in a way you can get it back together. Don't lose one teenie tiny flat washer or o-ring. Do it all in a small bowl as the carb clnr won't evaporate that fast.....

People are having good results soaking them in Pine Sol,
wont harm the rubber of plastic.
the information is out there if you want to read more about it.
at this point in time I'm picking up some the next time I'm at the store and am going to do my 350X and my SL100 carb with it.

I have found "EVAPORUST" to work the best. It can be found at TSC...Lowes,Home Depot etc... It will not harm rubber or brass and is really easy on your hands...biodegradeable but really strong. I usually take the carb apart and soak it for 1-2 complete days and then work it with a soft brush and a small wire off a wire brush in the pilot jet and orifice areas of the carb. You will need compressed air and some carb cleaner to finish remove all the excess film. This stuff works great and I strain it with a coffee filter back into the gallon jug and re use it over and over. About 25-30 bucks for a gallon but well worth is. When I went to school,in 1987-88. The shop used Napa carb soak. I still use it today. Hands down superior to ANYTHING I have personally seen. My friends who are/were in the business that I liked,I turned them onto it/professional shops,cleaning carbs every day. None of them have ever stopped using it once they started. Last I knew it's hovering around $30,comes with a VERY nice basket in it. It DOES eat ANY rubber,o ring,and would most likely soften brass! It is to be used as a soak for 15 to 30 minutes. I always thought common sense would dictate to degrease and clean the carb BEFORE soaking it in the expensive stuff. BUT<<<< ..I worked with enough at school to realize,,,it needs to be said : ) This stuff is THE real deal Period. I have saved more carbs than I can count that good mechanics were throwing away because they " couldn't be saved" This gets into EVERY orifice and crevice up inside the carb. Now,,having said all of that. I am ALL about Anything else mentioned above <<ESPECIALLY anything biodergadeable!!!!! This stuff is NOT! It WILL eat your skin,etc,,use gloves! I will be hooking into some of that evaporust to try out ! Edit,,,No Napa stocks this,you will have to ask for it! They more than likely will look at you like you're from another planet,but they do make it! It is a green/filmy color and smells Amazing! But it doesn't come in an aerosol or anything like that!

Never been much for the carb soaking. I just dont have the patience.
A can of cheap carb clean, compressed air = clean carb in about 5 minutes.

When i was growing up, my dad refused to use carb cleaner. He always said " That **** does more harm then good". He used WD40 and it seemed to always work well. But again, i dont have the patience.
