Pilot jet cleaning in the carb. Best way and how often to do it?

My own recommendation is let the jets sit in carb cleaner over night , ( the carb cleaner will be gone/evaporated by morning so dont panic lol) that should loosin the gunk enough to pick the muck out of the jet with a sewing needle (be gentle though) ,when all muck is removed you should be able to blow through it without any stop ups. Dirty jets are a nuisance thatll get on just about any riders nerves on any old machine after its been sitting for any prolonged amount of time. I start my 185s every 2/3 weeks just to prevent it , it always starts first pull and runs smooth forever. Heres a 82 185s needle after sittin with just oil in it for 2 years It was a fun rebuild. Lets hear your advice and tips on this matter.

Drain the carb after every ride. Problem solved.

If any jet looks like that, it's getting a $20 carb kit.

I've been known to pull a strand of copper wire out of a speaker or power wire and use it to clean jets in the past when they're really plugged.

I have an old pot that I boil any carb that I rebuild in. I'll boil the carb for about an hour in water and alittle bit of simple green. When you pull it out it almost looks brand new. Then I'll take my blow tip on my compressor and blow everything out. Before you boil it take it completly apart so it gets everywhere and you don't melt anything, like the float.

After cleaning that it looked brand new, and worked like new , never give up never surrender . And never throw away mullah on parts that are easily refurbishable. Then again if ya have it spend it too. XD

Is the smaller jet supposed to be able to blow right through mine doesn't seem to be the pilot jet does though but it is alot bigger of course and easier to clean

Heat them with a small butane torch... Pops the crap right out...

Butane torch is a great idea! why didnt I think of that?!

my solution to carb issues with current set up: buy a new carb HAHAHAH im being lazy and was upgrading anyways.
