225DR black and red special edition?

I've never seen one with this color scheme. What year is it and are these rare?

I could be wrong but I think they may have come in blue also. The difference between this and the DX is reverse.

Tri-moto 225s came in yellow, blue and black, with DX's produced from 83-85. In 85(DRN), 86(DRS) they made the DR with in black/gold. I think That is a custom kit, as i have never heard of a black/red other than the Tri-Zs nor can i find records of such, but it looks like Bryan is a yamaha guy. So, you have a unique tri-moto.

I have what's left of one, actually have the black rear plastics on my blue dx as the original blues were trashed. the DR have a very expensive cdi unit so take care of it. In good condition like that you have an awesome trike, but if you start breaking plastics you will have a hefty bill to replace them.

Fairly rare,Limited Edition. Blk/ylw/, Blk/red, ylw /blk in the LE's. I would say Yellow being the rarest color,,in the LE edition.

Please help those who cannot help themselves.

ALWAYS buying Museum quality machines,3 and 4 wheels. And any and ALL ,NOS parts,EVERY brand.

Thanks for all the info guys. It wasn't for sale but I'm trying to find out how much the owner would need to let it go.

Beautiful trikes atc007. I saw a special edition on the showroom floor as a kid and begged my father for it. I was way too small for it then and probably would have hurt myself and the trike. Black, red and gold just like I remember. Sweet trike.

IF im correct, the black golds were some of the last ones made and are worth the most. i know its rude to post a question in the comments but ive just been so curious where the shifter is for reverse on the yammy's.
