    200x speedometer setup help

Got the speedometer all set and functional. However i was wondring if there is anything to hold the gearbox unit in a stationary position? It moves forward or backward depending on my direction of travel....is this normal? Here is a pic

also, i have a black clamp that is supposed to hold the cable but the only area it seems to fit is over the fork boots? I did a forum search with no avail. and i def
dont want to mess anything up!

The black clamp should fit over your lower fork leg. It keeps the cable securely against the leg so it doesn't get tangled up in the moving wheel and tire and it keeps the gearbox from moving around so much. Some movement of the gearbox is normal. If the black plastic clamp doesn't fit over your fork leg, then it's the wrong clamp.

The red piece bolts onto something to help keep your speedo cable from getting tangled. You may have the black plastic clamp from a 250r or 350x, not sure about the diameter measurements of the lower legs. And I just found my box of what little bits I have left, it looks like you are missing a little rubber piece that goes inbetween the fork leg and your clamp. I seem to have one. How much is it worth? A million dollars? LOL Pm me your address and I'll send it out in the mail to you. It makes a complete 350x used speedo kit go up in value though!!!!!! LOL

there should be rubber piece that goes in the clamp which will take care of that gap, and the red bracket bolts to the fender to hold the speedo cable also, same concept/thing as the loop on the other side of the fender for the brake cable. i just put one on my 85 200x about a month ago. i was like yeeeehaaaa i know the answer to this one lol.

Yoopers correct on the Red plastic,it simply bolts onto your fender. It's OE Hondaline,,so don't let it bother you TOO much! I think your TAB is missing from your fr hub as to the reason you originally posted. The gearbox should only move a little bit,the tab on your fr hub holds it in place.
Please help those who cannot help themselves.

ALWAYS buying Museum quality machines,3 and 4 wheels. And any and ALL ,NOS parts,EVERY brand.

I am turning my PM's Off,my Email is billsracing@hotmail.com,put 3WW in the subject. Thanx!
