r is running fine,, just was mixed a bit too rich!!! was way better today,,, still needs a carb cleaning and adjusting thow (idles low and screw is completly screwed in???),,,im ok with the carb cleaning and rebuilding but i might need to find someone to fine tune it for me,,, not too familiar with 2 stroke so im not sure yet??? Gany was a blast today!!! i got someone REAL DIRTY too!!!LOL!!!

guys. My sx's exhaust valve is bent? I think... I haven't torn into it yet because im too pissed off to look at it. Doesn't look like i'll be making it tomorrow.

What makes you think that? I won't be making it either on Sunday, sorry guys, I was looking forward to hitting those trails again.

The reason why i think this is because it is ticking intensely. Popped off the valve covers when i got home, all the noise is coming from the exhaust valve. I have a loss of compression also. When i turn it off, it shuts off very abruptly.

I was riding with my buddy who just bought 86'250sx's ( brendan ) 86 250sx. Rode for maybe 5 minutes, she bogged down, died and wouldn't start. I changed the plug, checked air filter, etc etc, she starts but wont run worth . It starts fine now, and runs fine but when it did restart, there is a crazy knock/tick from the exhaust valve.

Bent valve is just my educated guess.

Im thinking about going to my cottage to get my 250es... i was really looking forward to riding tomorrow.

I wouldn't jump the gun on it begiing bent. give your self a few days then start going over it. Please do not just rip it apart eather.

Sorry to hear your problems Jason - and sorry to hear you guys didn't get to ride today.

I've been at my folks this weekend so I tore into my '85 250sx and replaced the triple I got from Tapper. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! The bent triple was causing me major steering issues, but this solved them completely. Now I just need to find a better set of forks!

I'll have to take a picture of the bent lower triple that was in this trike when I got it... someone sure had quite the head on collision with a tree or something! I got this trike for $500 because of the damage, but everything else is in great shape and it starts like a top (2nd kick after winter storage); glad a parts trade could make it ride so much better!
