Question for anyone from the south or that know southern slang!

I've been watching alot of Swamp People on the TV lately and i've noticed that some of the times they add a T infront of there names or words there using example( T-Mike, T-buddy) I'm thinking the letter T may mean little or possibly junior. Can anyone bring me up to speed on what the hell there talking about? I have family from the south and they tell me alot of people down there have strange names like De Bo and Bo Bob which must be some kind of French desent. What is the meaning of the T?

You're right the 'T' means little..like calling someone JR.

It is a Cajun thing and I think it started by them slanging the french word for little (petit)..it became just 't'.
