Underglow kit on my 1985 atc 250r

Well, I wanted to do something unique to my bike. So i got a pretty cheap ATV underglow kit and put it on my 1985 atc 250r. Its kind of dorky, but its neat.

Here is a pic of the bike.

Here is a walkaround of what has been done to my bike and some of the different color combos.

If the imbeded link does not work, here is the direct link

I put a battery that powers the underglow kit in the airbox. The battery is so small that it doesn't even touch the air filter.

I then drilled a small hole on the underside of the airbox that allows the positive and negative wires to route to the underglow control box.

Next i mounted the underglow control box to the airbox by drilling two small holes and bolting it onto the airbox.

Finally, i mounted the six light strips all around the bike and routed the wires to the control box. I will admit that the routing of the wires could be better, but its fine for now.

I think the kit is pretty neat. I believe there is around 30 different color combos and i can control the changing of the colors with a wireless remote.

The light kit is cool... would be awesome for night trail riding. BTW, I think your grab bar is mounted upside down...

    Hang?

You sit it up on it's tail and decorate the trike.
This is my trike. There are many like it but this one is mine. My trike is my best friend, and it is my life. I must master it as I must master myself. My trike without me is useless. Without my trike, I am useless. I must ride my trike true. My trike and I know that what counts is not the amount of miles we ride, but the time we ride together. My trike is human in it's own ways, therefore I will learn it as my brother. I will learn it's weaknesses, it's strengths, it's parts, and it's soul.

You know, i've been thinking that it is mounted upside down too. I will have to switch it around.

Yea its pretty cool riding at night. Its so bright that ii don't need to use my headlight at night.

I measured the space available in the airbox and went to autozone thinking that they might have a motorcycle//jetskii/ATV battery small enough to fix in there. What do you know, they did. I will get the battery P/N tonight and take a picture of the set up.

Do you have to run it off the battery, or could it be hooked up to your headlights? LED's draw almost nothing... This would be sweet on my 3fiddy!

I'm not sure wither it can be ran off the bike itself. I have also heard that LEDs do not take up a lot of juice.. I didn't want to tap into the harness and mess anything up so i choose to just run it off a battery.

I tried to splice a new backup light onto my suzuki LT-160 wiring harness, and i kept blowing fuses... maybe the same thing would happen if i tried to splice the LEDs into the 250r harness. I'm no electrician, so i have no idea.

With some small voltage regulators form Radio shack, and a few diodes to convert AC current into DC you could run a system without the battery and just use power from the stator.
