Predecessor to the 350x it appears. Love those old school fenders. Couple sweethearts in the background. Thanks for postin' this up.
83' 200x (son's). 85' 200 auto-x & 85' 125m (daughters). 84' Tecate(?). 85' KXT Tecate (mine!, mine!, mine!.)+ some others but don't feel like typing them in.
This was a proto-type of the 350x. The frame was built by Tracey Dickson of Dickson Design out of SD Cal.I picked it up and took it home to Powroll in Bend Or. in mid 83' I believe. We used Sundal Racing products fiberglass fenders, low profile 200x rear, and 250r front. 250r front forks were used and 200x rear WB shock on the 2inch longer rear Dickson swing arm.The 200x gas tank was cut and fabbed by Pete Fisher(new owner of Powroll). At the time the HRC dirt track bikes looked like the pic,so I had the frame nickle plated and the paint job was done in the red white and blue theme.
The motor was a XR350 RFVC and was built to a 420 I believe, but as all RFVC motors at the time it had major heat problems. The big front tire made things so bad I would melt the plastic dip stick in a 20min. moto at Powroll. We added a oil cooler and modifyed the fins on the head for better cooling. That gives you a little history for why the new motor in the 350x today.
I think my scaner is messing up,the 350x looked more like this one with the color added, but yes it was still tall to get the tall motor to fit.
The race pic is me in 84' at the Tacoma Dome on another proto-type,but this time Honda had us build a 250 class racer with a XR250 motor.
man.... a 600 in that thing? kinda looks like the pic is slightly stretched upward too. the tire on the van is not round.

One of the reasons Honda gave us the job of building a 250 was because I just needed more power when I would race the Mickey Thompson races on my 200x in the 250 pro class. I did alright in the tight corners, but after working my but off to pass someone they would get back by me down the long straights.
It helped that I was only 140lbs. Now I am twice as old,and twice the weight!
Jaw dropping.
Now I want to build that big puppy. I bet it was a monster to ride.
This is my trike. There are many like it but this one is mine. My trike is my best friend, and it is my life. I must master it as I must master myself. My trike without me is useless. Without my trike, I am useless. I must ride my trike true. My trike and I know that what counts is not the amount of miles we ride, but the time we ride together. My trike is human in it's own ways, therefore I will learn it as my brother. I will learn it's weaknesses, it's strengths, it's parts, and it's soul.
