Should I use Mobil 1 5w-30 fully synthetic motor oil in my 200x??????

I finished my motor build and I have read threads on some using synthetic and others using regular oil. Am i safe with this 5w-30 synthetic?

For the money with a rebuilt motor I would run some motorcycle specific 10W40, Valvoline is great stuff. Might cost less than Mobil 1 synthetic and its designed designed for a wet clutch system, as well as having the necessary zinc, phosphorus and moly. Those three elements are very important for bikes and older engines, in the last couple years they decreased the content because it will clog the cats on really new cars. So you are better off running motorcycle, or diesel oil. Also 10W40 is exempt from the lower zinc, moly, phosphorus content but without researching the oil you don't know its content.

Moly is the one you don't want in a wet clutch. Some diesel oils don't have moly like Rotella and Rotella synthetic. The formulas can change every few months so IMO I would just go with a Motorcycle specific blend. On the other hand I don't think I have ever herd of an engine failure due "improper" oil being used.

Thanks gentlemen! I went with the Valvoline 4 stroke. The synthetic was a little too expensive for my taste.

I like the Shell Rotella T5 Synthetic blend, no bad additives and it has the elements good for a wet clutch, and it holds up pretty well.

I run the Valvoline atv oil in my trikes and quad as well. $4 a quart and works just fine imo. I used to run Amsoil in my quad but it's such a pain to get it and I changed it at regular oil intervals anyway.

Actually moly is good, just not too much. Honda gold oil has moly, but too much is a bad thing. Motorcycle specific oil has just the right amount.

I'm with ya on this. I run oil from Powroll, It's schaeffer micron moly 20w-50 re-bottled for Powroll. Have been running it in my 200x for almost a year now, great stuff.

Whatever you get just make sure it's good to go for a wet clutch. I run spectro motorcycle oil in my Yammi ytm and that has taken a beating for years and I never had a problem with it.

I was using N2 4 stroke atv oil in my 200es this summer, it was.....20w-50 I think, ran like a charm.
This is my trike. There are many like it but this one is mine. My trike is my best friend, and it is my life. I must master it as I must master myself. My trike without me is useless. Without my trike, I am useless. I must ride my trike true. My trike and I know that what counts is not the amount of miles we ride, but the time we ride together. My trike is human in it's own ways, therefore I will learn it as my brother. I will learn it's weaknesses, it's strengths, it's parts, and it's soul.
