    Question 400ex head pipe on a 350x???

So I was perousing fleabay looking for a decent head pipe upgrade for my newest project 350x. A guy is selling a head pipe for a 400ex that he is claiming will also fit the 350x. Do any of you know if it will actually work? I can't really tell from just looking at the pictures.

It will not fit without some modifications.

Doesn't matter, the 400EX has the same ID as the 350X pipe.

To use it you have to cut off and use the 350X flanges and cut/bend/tweak the headpipe to fit. Waste of time IMO..........

You dont have to cut the flange at all.

you have to cut the rear section of the head pipe above the kicker, grind a bit to tilt the rear section up, weld it back together. its really not much work at all.

^ I know that, but for some reason people felt the 400EX in stock form had a larger ID head pipe. People have told me this isn't true so I wonder what the advantage is?

Being brand new and cleaner, cheaper. That's the only reason I can think of.

The advantage is that once you modify the 400EX header corectly you can use almost any aftermarket slip on thats made for the 400EX.

Most members here don't or can't shell out the $$ for a slip on when they can buy a whole Cobra or DG for the same price. Don't get me wrong, I do not care for cobra or DG but I can't buy a 200$ used slip on either......

Fortunately, I have Supertrapp systems on most of my machines.
