Finally Found a tank to restore and finished it! Lots of pics! 86 200x

Here is the trashed tank I started with. I had minimal rust inside, and no leaks!!!!! Which is nearly impossible to find on a 86-87 200x tank. I found this tank on ebay one night and it was listed as a 83-85. But looking at the picture, I knew it was not so I hit buy it now for 50 bucks. I emailed the guy about it making sure I got the item in the picture and he replied with a YES! He also said there was no rust inside the tank, and the was a little so he gave me a 20 dollar refund which covered the kreme kit tank prep a and b! So I got the tank for 30 bucks!

Finished tank. I used the Kreme coat prep and a and b. But not the kreme. I coated the inside of the tank with RED Coat. I feel it works and holds up better than Kreme coat. The tank Prep by kreme coat works really well with getting and little bit of rust out that was inside.
I then stripped the outside of the tank with paint stripper and sanded it smooth. I than used a small to reshape some of the body lines on the top. Than came some bondo and HOURS of sanding. I even used an orbital sander, and it still took me 12 hours. A few small thin coats of bondo, glazing putty for small spots and some more sanding.
I bought a factory decal kit off of eBay, and had the autobody shop paint the tank first, than apply the decal, than clear over it. Here is the pics of the finished tank.

Here is the finished trike with full decal kit. The stock fenders are crack free, but have a small stain on the left side.

I am thinking about getting the frame and some other parts powder coated. There is a few small parts I want yet, but nothing to major.
Give me some feedback fellow trikeaholics!

Nice tank and trike. How much would you say you have wrapped up in the tank now?

Awesome tank. My 86 is loaded with pinholes, and looks like it was all ready kreamed. I end to redo it one of these days, the jb-weld will only hold for so long! Looking at your tank makes me want to fix mine

To be honest when I started looking for a tank that did not leak, I was so depressed I though about parting out my trike. Then I got lucky finding this tank. Now I see atleast one every week or so on ebay! And alot of them are really nice.
All together I have this much into the tank.$286 Which I do not think is bad for a basically better than new tank.
    50$- tank/shipped
    20$-Tank prep a and b
    28$-Redcoat liner
    10$-Paint stripper and primer
    15$-Glazing putty and Bondo
    10$-for Decals
    159$-For paint/Clear

Second gen 200x tank rust out so easily, and it seems to be a common problem. I am still looking for extra tanks just to have. I still have my original tank left, I think I might try to restore it just to have an extra. I needed a tank to bed for my trike I'd have dropped 2-300 bucks for one in my worst time of need!
