86 200x carb question?

@motorious: yes, i think ima just take that route...someone on ebay has a stock 86 200x carb and throttle cable combo for 50 bucks...guy says it ran and idled perfect when it was on bike. might look into buying this week...btw..nice score with 250sx, i was just reading thread. lol

I used my stock cable with my 28MM carb and cap, your missing something simple, it spins, it's not welded in place.......

i just tried a carb from 200s....no good. now im stuck without a tank, rear fenders, and no carb

That's puzzling. The throttle cable can never be separated from the cap??? That's unusual. Surely you can do as the others suggest and treat yourself to a new throttle cable. Probably only $15 on ebay, including shipping. Might as well try that new carb. Either that or sell it. What diameter is the slide on that new carb? Where did you get it?

well thts wht the service manual says...the new carb i purchased on ebay..its was like 30 bucks shipped so i jumped on the deal...i don't know the slide diameter but it seems so be a couple of mm smaller than stock carb....on ebay they dont specify the slide diameter rather, the intake diameter so i don't know wht to look for when getting another new carb. wht would i search for when looking for a carb cable? i jus tried a search and dont get much. thanks

I would just search "86 200x throttle cable". I own the older one, first gen,and there is tons of stuff on ebay. Not sure about 86 though.

went ahead and bought carb and throttle cable...gonna be like 70 bucks but i really wanna hear this run. thanks for all the help guys.
