I owned a 400ex myself and i could not agree anymore on the mods you made.
the front end liked to wonder over bumps at high speeds on mine. Let us know how that stabilizer works!
nerf bars have saved me arse way to many times too.
i actually broke my back crashing my 400ex back in 08 and nerf bars woulda saved me.

Good choises on 1st mods for your 400ex. Next i would recomend a G-Force axle only $200 on ebay and they hold up good + some 20" front's and 18" rears for the track

1985 atc 250r ---- finsh line axle,.fmf exhaust and rictor privateer silencer, prm grab bar.
2008 KTM 525xc quad ----- HMF exhaust, HRE chromoly stem,
86 trx 250r --- with after market chromoly frame and everything else done to it
01 400ex --- with 86 trx 250r motor
87 250x + 93 300ex both 350x powered
2 = 86 atc 350x's
86 atc 250r
83 atc 185s --- from retired guy not ridden since 87
Bandito framed 110 with 85 motor and yellow us90 fenders + tank

nice 400, if you go to exriders.com theses always guys parting out older race bikes. you can prob score some good stuff like shocks and ext swingarms pretty cheap.
i just got a +4 axle for $100 shipped in near new condition for my 300ex
