    Disc brake on ATC 110

I'm thinking of putting a rear disc brake on m ATC 110, I know the hubs from a TRX will fit, but will a disc brake flange also fit on a 110 axel?

There were disc brake kits for the 90/110 at one time. The hub was a turned down 90/110 hub though with a plate welded on. The caliper was a cable operated caliper like on an old go kart.

I was thinking something like this

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TRX-2...Q5fAccessories

then fabricate a bracket to hold the caliper and use some hydrolic brake line.

I can understand why DC would do a disc brake on his 70 with the custom swing arm and all. He's gonna be doing a lot of fabbing anyways and to make a custom disc brake setup seems easier in my mind than making a custom drum setup.

But why in the world do you want a disc brake on a 110? The drum works just fine in my opinion.

I'm trying to eliminate the foot brake and just use the hand brake, and its winter, the snow's too deep to ride, so I need a project. This should keep me busy for a few days. And hey, if it works, it'll be pretty neat, if it doesnt, I can always go back to a drum brake.

Well, it's not hard to eliminate the foot brake since a stock 90/110 uses a front hand brake and foot brake hooked up in tandem. It would seem all you would have to do is chop off the foot brake part and leave the front hand brake lever and cable and you should be good to go. If you used the go kart cable operated caliper, you could run a custom line from your hand brake all the way back to your caliper and eliminate the little foot brake pivot part altogether. Although on a stock 90/110 frame you just have to make a flat type spacer to space a hydraulice caliper out to the necessary distance. But then you have to have a really long hydraulic line from your front master cylinder to you caliper, but that shouldn't be too hard as most shops that do truck brakes should be able to make you a custom cable if need be.

For a brake caliper and rotor look into some of the chinese pit bike parts.. You can get complete setups for under $35 shipped brand new. You just have to make sure you get one for one of the better made pit bikes. This is what is going to go on my 90.

stock, but on a 110 the tires are about 1/2 outside the fenders so to scale it looks extended...lol

I'll have to dig it out of the shed this spring and get some better pics of it.

The axle fits the carrier perfect but you need to cut all the drum brake stuff off.

Then it took a good bit of machining to get the sprockets to line up and i need to run a 250x/300ex hub on one side.

Search my threads, I broke down how to do this before.
