Honda Passion Red vs. Rustoleum Sunrise Red

I got my tank and forks done. I did a test panel before I did either one. I bought Dupli-Color engine paint to clear over the tank in case of any spills. I read of some negative effects on the Rustoleum with gas so I thought this might help. The two different paints didn't reactive negatively on my test panel but when I sprayed the tank and handlebars, I had some areas shrivel. I'm not impressed but for what this is going to be used for, I'm not going to strip it down and do it again. I prepped everything properly and still can't figure out why this would've happened but it is what it is. Anyway, onto the comparison. Here are the pictures with my all-original 110:

Compared to that, it almost looks a little pink-ish. Now compared to the fender bolted on, it looks pretty damn close. I guess it all depends on the angle and lighting. The forks were also cleared with the Dupli-Color so that doesn't change anything.

I think it looks great! You have to remember that original paint is about 25 years old, after time paint pigment fades. So you may very well be on the money with the paint. After seeing your paint job, I need to get on the ol ladies bike. Her forks are just about orange. Nice job!

lol, that is what i used many times with my ATC70s. i put real thin coats on and wet sanded between the coats. i never had any trouble with the gas. i let it dry for a couple weeks and polished it before i used it.

Looks pretty good. I have had the color coat get shriveled by clear in the past also when they weren't the same brand. I sanded it down and redid with the same brand clear and it didn't do it again.

Look very close to the original color.I'm using industrial paint ,the red for the Case tractor.A little bid more dark but I have never compared it with OEM new fender,25 year old fender always look pinky and faded

RAL 3020 is the code for Passion Red in powder coat. It's an exact match. Paint dealers can use this code for crossing over, also.

The Sunrise Red needs more orange in it to match better. I've used Sunrise Red and it doesn't look as close as those pitures that you showed us. And even in those pictures I can see the color difference. The Sunrise red is not orange enough to really match.

I've used the Case industrial color red and to me it looks like a dead on match to my new fender

Red seems to take forever to dry... I would let your base dry for a week to 10 days before clear... (imo)

Sunrise Red is Rustoleum Andy.

Close enough for me, no pinkish colors here. Trike or - ahhh nevermind......

Takes forever to dry...
