    ATV Batteries

    All,

Does anyone know of a site that can cross reference ATV batteries?

I have an 85 yamaha 225DX and a 2001 yamaha wolverine, both of which need new batteries. So far I have had issues locating a new battery for either vehicle.

The 225DX has a "B314AA1" in it now and I called a local retailer and they gave me the same number. The Everstart Catalog at Walmart gave me the number of "ES14AA2". Does anyone know the difference between the two? They appear to be the same size but I dont know about the internals as far as the size of the plates or anything like that.

The four wheeler battery is "YB12CA" and it is also the same dimensions as the "ES14AA1". Whats odd here is that most of the listings in the Everstart catalog show the "ES14AA1" as the required battery EXCEPT the Wolverine which is listed as "NA", just my luck, lol!

    Any help here is appreciated.

    Thanks all!!

The brand from Walmart was "Everstart"

I checked the dealer last time I bought batteries and they price was more than double what a retail store was selling them for. I just cant see paying the dealer double the $$ for the same thing just because they are a motorsports dealer.

Batteriesplus.com shows that the 14AA1 and the 14AA2 are apparently interchangeable. The 14AA2 comes up as a replacement for the 14AA1. Anyone know if this is correct?

I would just measure the old battery and find one that is the same or close to the same dimensions.

No offense ^, but I would not suggest to just go by the just dimensions. I got an 12V battery that worked for 20$ cheaper one time but didn't have the same nuts as the correct battery (stlll cross referenced from a stock or 12BS at that time though.........)

    Mine was an 87 250SX.

I think Autozone had mine last time, Walmart another time..... I don't ride the SX much so it needs a friggen battery every 2 years (more reasons not to ride it, lol.....)

I stay away from the autozone batteries i have returned at least 4 of them... As far as finding a battery...I would try http://www.batteriesplus.com/product...ri-Moto/1.aspx using that number to maybe cross to or just type "yamaha 225dx battery" and you should be able to find what the cca/dimensions are maybe even some brands to look for in your stores around you.. I go to the local tractor supply to get the ones for my jet ski/boat/truck and now for the three wheeler....good luck!
New to three wheelers but not to wrenching.

You need to just go back to Wal Mart. Can't beat $30 bucks. They do have your battery, I got mine there, same size!
