    200s carb leak

Cleaned out the 200s carb lastnight and its leaking gas out the overflow on the top now.....

The float and needle looked good and didn't seem to stick, any ideas on what else could be causing it, the bike still runs but the gas leaks out the hole and runs down the carb onto the motor..... until i turn the petcock back off of course...

float adjustment for sure , If you have a plastic float your s.o.l. My suggestion would be to spend $40 on a brand new carb from ebay and youll be good to go . They ebay carbs even have a metal frame for the float so you can adjust it down the road if needed . I beat my head up against a wall for weeks trying to figure out why my original carb was acting up and leaking fuel out the overflow non stop . Some people frown upon the knock off ebay carbs but ive been using them on all my trikes and they work great .

Buy a $20 rebuild kit, adjust it properly and it should be fine. There should be no reason to get rid of the plastic float unless you broke the tang off that the float needle sits on.

There's a difference between cleaning and rebuilding. Rebuilding replaces everything that's worn, which can be a lot of things in a carb. Just because it looks good doesn't mean it's good. Get a new float needle. I would do the same with the jets. Can you tell that the jets are still the size that is stamped on them just by looking at the size of the hole? I sure can't. I'm not trying to be a dick, I'm just trying to help you get it running without pulling your hair out.

If your strapped then you need to try to adjust the floats somehow , chances are your set to high , I would think thats causing it to flood gas out . I have an extra float thats metal if you want it its your just PM me some shiping info .

Hey pull the bowl off, fill with gas till it almost spills over. If it comes out the overflow at the bottom, then the overflow tube, (brass tube molded into the bowl), may have a hole in it. Have had it happen at work, stumped us for a week the1st time it happened. I assume you are talking about the hole at the bottom of the carb bowl is where it's leaking from correct? There should be no overflow on the top of the carb, it's a vent. If gas comes out that hose, you got major problems, not likely float related.

Im def. not talking about the hole at the bottom of the float bowl, but rather the "hole" on the side thats right above the choke lever (not where the gas line goes but to the left of that).... Is that bad????

No gas shoudl ever come from there. I have no idea what could be causing it to get that high, is it a steady stream or like a vapor kinda leak? May just not be venting right?
