Anyone used a dipstick heater before an oil change?

I have picked up a few 185's and 200's for an average price of $20. I have gotten them running and am ready to change the oil on them. It is not getting above 50 degrees F here in California and I am thinking an immersion heater might yield better results with an oil change. I found one on Amazon for $17 shipped, but some of the reviews say that they break quickly. Any input from someone who has used one before?

Here is the on that I found:

The only thing I think that heater is good for is super cold starts(10-40deg.). Better results as in getting all the oil out? Start it and let it warm up before you change the oil.??? or cleaner oil as in 2 oil changes?... Beets

I don't consider 50 degrees cold lol. Take yesterday here for example. It was -2 when I got to work at 9am. I'm sure Canadian members will laugh at -2.

Just run the engine before draining the oil like you would on a car.
