    Average cost for powdercoating?

Thinking about taking the swing arm off and getting it powder coated. What all is involved and what would be a good price for powder coat?

Just getting back into 3 wheelers and I'm wanting to do a "budget build" on my 86 250R. The guy I bought it from had the frame powder coated, but I don't think much more was done. I just want to fix up a few (a lot) more things to extend the life of the beast.

Any advice on the removal and anything else I could do to the rear end would be a great help!

Just for the swinger? With blasting and PC you're looking at probably 50-75$ i'd say.

I would remove the bearing prior to pc,if you dont rubber will melt and the grease will run.$50-80 bucks sounds about right.

Some guys are better set up and can do the same job/quality but with better prices.

Some guys offer it 40% cheaper but you may not be happy with the work.

There are a dozen guys here that do phenominal work just at a smaller scale, such as ME and Honda250SX (Jeff).

One it's coated, it's DONE, so make sure every aspect is spot on as far as threads go and also reinforcing parts that break.

Anyone that coats an 85 or 86 350X frame without some improvements is wasting his money. The PC shop my may be able to do this, maybe not but be sure to look as the quality of welds before the PC begins. There is also the swingarm Mosh Plate to be considered.............

I bust off all swingarm stock mounting points and crack the swinger where the carrier rolls too. So, I make sure I attend to those before PC.

Depending on your style and place of riding, be sure any and all mounts are welded in place prior to PC.

Buster Brown and Dreadhead do some great work and I believe they are set up for frames too!! BB forsure and he does great work that matches well..................

Hey, I do fine myself, but I try and keep it low key for myself and my immediate buddys, and they get the same 100% guarantee.

I'd like to build a frame oven, but it's too much work for the blasting and coating involved; I'll just mail it to Andy (BusterBrown)..............

I do have it pretty lucky over here. There is an industrial powder coat shop nearby that is a big operation. When they do a big run of the usual colors you can throw your parts in aswell and sometimes get the prices even cheaper. They do charge more $$$ for exotic colors as they have to special order the powder, but I've always been happy with the standard line and vein series selection for normal price.
