1986 Yami 225 Question Pic inside

I'm going to look at a 1986 Yami 225 in a couple of days. It runs but the owner says the rear end is locked up.

Is it possible its just the brakes are frozen or is it a bigger problem with the shaft/transfer case?

I don't know much about these and need advice on what to look at to determine the problem.

Thanks in advance for any help and info on this.

just a quick guess, but lift up the back end, try to rotate the axle. If if wont move AT ALL I would suspect the brakes. Might also be able to check out if the brake linkage moves freely.

often with neglected bikes, the brake arm seizes with the shoes pressed open, so I am willing to bet that its just brakes. check them first and if its not them , you have more serious problems

Damn John, I was gonna say I'd go with ya.......

I like those 225's, the one I had was a blast!

I wanted one of them back 11 years ago, not an SX and now I don't know which one is the more fun
