    Few tips on Honda CR 80

    Mine is a 01 CR 80 expert big wheel, just for the record.

    This (1st tip) applies to most other brand 80's too ........

    Upgraded my chain and sprockets from a stock 420 to a 428 Kit, the wimpy 420 may cut it for a kid but for me at 170 I was having too much chain stretch all the time other wise this bike is amazing how it holds up, rock solid reliability and starts almost always on the 1st kick.

    I also just discovered this morning my foot pegs from my 95 XR650L bolt right on perfectly ......

    Also .......The suspension spring wise and damping was upgraded for my weight.

    I go out to Three Springs PA to ride usually, Sat quads and bikes, Sun just bikes.

    hey Huffa whats up. nice cr and the foot peg swap should be way better.

    Let me know when your heading out there again on a saturday. i'll bring along my MX ready trx250r. Unless you afraid i'll run you over.

    I went to that track years ago when they 1st opened.

    nice bike. i would think that a 125 would be better for your size though, and i dont thing the overall height of the 125 would differ much from the cr80 BW.

    125s are the same height as 250s and consequently 500s, go figure. Sweet peg mod by the way, 80s make awesome trail bikes. Fun, fast, light, reliable and cheap to use. Sounds perfect.

    OK Jason, will let you know and naaah, you know how to ride and wouldn't run me over on purpose

    300R man, I have a 125 (87 Honda CR 125) but restored it too nice (very close to showroom) and I don't want to ride it, I could of bought another 125 but chose the 80 because it's so much fun, I have more fun on that bike then any other size bike I owned and had all sizes at one time or another.

    The 87 I chose to restore because it was one of the best years ever made and only 86 & 87 came with gold wheels. 87 1st year with rear disc brake too.

    Actually the 87 has 01 YZF 426 footpegs on (direct bolt on) because the stock ones were so darn wimpy back then and it looks so much better with a wider peg.

    If memory serves me correct, Jason Hall on here has the same bike.

    Yep, exactly why I bought the 80

    No powervalve either to clean!

    I also love the 80cc bikes. My girlfriend rides a KTM85SX and that has to be one of the funnest bikes i've ridden, and best handling. I had 2 CR80's also. I just bought a Late 90's YZ80 for 100 bucks. It needs a rear wheel, chain, sprockets, all levers and throttle, handlebars, and a top end rebuild. I'm going to try to get as much low end out of it as i can (My CR80 had none)...A lot of the low end power comes back with a fresh top end though it seems. I weigh around the same weight as you huffa (165), what do you recommend for setting up the suspension? I'm pretty pumped to get it going, they are such light and nimble bikes. BTW your CR's are very nice

    same seat height, maybe. but as for how they feel in overall size, the 250 is much larger of a bike. i jump back and fourth between my 250 and a few different 125's, and they feel tiny compared to the 250

    Ride any CR from the early to mid 90s, they all have the exact same frame 125-500. I will fully admit I have only ridden the pro track at pala on my brothers old 99 KX80, pure fun

    In my 20's i used to cruise around a late 80's kx80 big wheel. My friends made fun of me but it was a blast on the trails. I also had a 2000 yz250 but it was set up for the track and was hard to handle on the trails and seemed to not take wrecks that well. It also was a bear to kick over everytime we had to stop.

    Huffa, I still have my 87 CR125!!! It's a Great bike, first year with rear disc brake's. The 80's are VERY fun I agree. I'm workin on a 03 CR85 cylinder now to gain LOW END power, these CR80's love to scream. I found the Pro Circuit pipe works best for all around power. Add a flywheel weight, and the later model PWK style carb (05 & up I think). These little bike's will run with a Stock Banshee.

    83 ATC 60-R Cr60 converted with Zinger parts.
    83 ATC 70.
    83 Tri zinger
    ATC 85-R Cr85 engine on shortened 86-R frame.
    ATC450AF
    86 310-R Drag racer
    440 snowmobile powered custom built.
    87 Cr 500 Converted to Drag racer
