Dear Tropical storm Ida....... BRING IT!

I've got tons of gas, a generator...and she's projected to make landfall wednesday right after I get off of work.

Winds aren't supposed to be bad, and we're supposed to get a good bit of rain. Even with all the rain we've been getting lately...It'll be welcome.

Supposed to hit anywhere from 60 miles west of me to 150 miles east. I'm liking those odds.


Just gotta pick up a ton of charcoal, meat, and beer!

Don't know what the weather is down there, but I've been worried about a storm in Tuscaloosa all season. I seriously figured LSU would beat us.....but I had the beer part covered whether it was going to be for a celebration or for trying to forget the whupping I thought we were going to get.

it's supposed to be a subtropical depression...nothing major at all. but because of safety reasons, school and work will both shut DOWN!


edit: school will at least...work can just not expect to see me in until a few days after the storm. My driveway has a lovely low zone that ends up 3-4 ft deep when the rain starts coming down.

The front coming through is going to be very weak. So i personaly see ida hitting right at the TX/LA border. Goat we might see a bit of this but the strongest it will be is a cat 1 and i want even latch my gates for that. Unless it stalls which is quite a possibility. at a few feet above sea level it doesnt take much. I follow the comments in the Dr.s blog at weather underground. Usaully they can tell you whats going on 24hrs ahead of the media.

You're right on the interception/incomplete pass call. I saw that it was caught with at least one foot in bounds. I don't think it would have necessarily changed the outcome, just the final score....but who knows.

I don't think Tebow and company can put up much more of a fight in Atlanta than ya'll were able to bring today. After all.....I think LSU is the toughest team Bama has faced all season. There have been other games with closer scores, but all factors considered.....this was the only game I worried about weeks ahead of time.

I'll quit hijacking your storm thread with football talk, but feel free to PM me about the game if you'd like.

figured out how to do the bacon explosion right...don't stuff it with sausage, ya stuff it with ground sirloin. the sirloin larded up comes out better than the best filet I've ever had.




as for thread hijacking....last time I checked the open forum is titled for discussion. using the message board to converse about things or ideas.

whether it's football or weather is of little consequence to me.


Thanks for the headsup barry. I'll definitely check it out. Usually once it gets in the gulf I can walk outside and tell what's up. If I see any cloud movement coming out of the west...RAIN. If I see stuff coming from the south...at the very least we're getting rain bands.
