Hi. My son just gifted a 1986 KLT110 to me. It fired up and didn't smoke or knock but the shift mechanism was dead. I split the cases this weekend and fount that the married 2nd and 3rd were trashed and the stud for the external mechanism was broken at the case. I found that same years KLT and KLF transmissions will work but I found a good deal on a 1987 KLT transmission and am wondering if that will slip in OK? Also when I took the end cap off the shifter cage there are 6 pins in the end of the shift drum and a hole inside the pattern that doesnt have a pin? Should it? Any pictures I can find of the shift drum show it in assembled state without an exploded view of the pins. Thanks
