The bike was build from the frame up, with some really cool stuff, including an authentic 200R race engine which is a really cool piece of trike history. The bike really is something special, with a CAL FAB +1" swingarm and many, many supporting mods to make this replica a great effort. The bike was updated a few times since, and we've included some pictures of the magnificent beast which you can view by clicking this article.       I had the opportunity to ride one of these motors a few months ago. You are a lucky man to own one of these motors & you did an amazing job of putting together a great piece of 3 wheel history!

      Thats a quality restoration, she's quite a sexy beast! Could someone give a little history lesson on the trike? What is Selvy? Why was the 200r not mass produced? Who raced it and what did it win?

      I believe the 200R was a destroked/sleeved 250R engine that was built to racein the 200cc class back in the '80s when Team Honda was running around. It was never intended to be a production machine.

      Selvy Is Rob Selvy he now works at BDT Motorsports.He is an engine builder from back in the day.He destroked the liquid R using a crank from a aircooled R.He welded the crank so it has full circle lobes and he destroked it to around 57 mill with the stock 66 mill bore.Along with some other mods .The Tecates were debored.Rob is a great guy he is a member on a quad site.Team Honda was the only production prototype 200 twostroke.Honda gearing ip to make a production 200 two strokes till the ban ruined that.

      A Rob Selvy 200cc powered BDT Race Trike came out of retirement this past summer to Race vs. a gate full of modified larger motored 3 Wheelers at Ashtabula, Ohio Race Track. The 200cc motor was able to hold off the competition & went on to a victory! Extremely impressive return to action for a 200cc powered machine - 200cc motor was able to have the same success in 2014 that it did more than 25 years ago.

      I think the 200R and 500R's were both in pre-production stages before the kaboshes were put on that.
