hello to all my fellow trikers, havent been around in awhile, almost a year i think actually. well actually i have been around now and then, just lurking - scrounging up all the helpful info you guys give, just not posting. most all my internet time now goes to craigslist trying to find unbeatable deals on more trikes ofcourse :TrikesOwn
i just stopped in to do a search and find a good front tire for my bigred and thought id take a minute to say hi and give some updates on my trike list, my fleet is all big reds now since i sold the ytm 200 and 86 250sx that i bought about around this time last year. the sx wasnt in as good of shape as i thought it was when i went to pick it up, turned out the oil drain plug was coverd with JB weld they must have stripped the threads or cracked it, im not sure. the kickstarter would hardly ever catch and turn it over, it usually just went down freely. push button for elec start didnt work, had to touch the 2 wires together instead, gas tank sprung a leak underneath which made the paint start to peel off, and it already had tank liner in it so i had to put a second coat of liner in it and put some jb weld on the pinhole and repainted that area. not to mention numerous other small things here and there. anyway i had about 650 into it and sold it for 600 so i rode it about a year for 50 bucks, i guess i cant complain. anyway so all thats left is the big reds. i still have old reliable, an 83 200e in good shape got it from the original owner still pretty much all original etc etc. another 83 200e this one has clark plastic gas tank, cobra exhaust, it is LOud and its a wheelie machine. smokes a little on startup but runs like a bear!! and now i also have an 84 200es, not the best looking bike with dented tank and one of the rear fenders is half missing but it ran great too until recently, i think i need to clean the carb on it just havent messed with it yet... and the last one i picked up is my baby, 85 250es, also got this one from the original owner, pretty much all original, runs excellent but does have the "cold start" problem in the winter that the 85's are known for..(btw i beleive that blowing into the tank made it start cold in the winter. im not positive about it, but the last time i rode it this winter i tried that and it worked. will need to try it a couple more times when winter hits). anyways this one is in great shape too still had the original tires on it with alot of tread left but were dry-rotted so i just put some gbc dirtdevil 2's on the rear. ill try to get some pics tomorrow or when i get a chance ill post them up, there nothing 'special' but i know how much you guys love pics lol. anyway im off to start a new thread to find out whats a good front tire for the 250es. take care and keep on trikin! :TrikesOwn :beer
