Anyone suggest a decent tool for pulling rear axle bearings? I want the proper tool for atv's. Suggestion?

would you consider a sledge hammer, wd-40 and a 3/4" bolt proper? with the head of the bolt inside of the carrier and against the bearing race, you can pound on the threaded end and alternate sides of the bearing between hits.

That won't scar the carrier?

I just use a long piece of rod and a small sledge hammer. And I've never done any damage. And I've changed alot of them. I wouldn't be surprised if alot of dealers/bike shops do it that way.

Take the sprocket side off first with a long drift (I use brass, but thats me....) and 2lb hammer, back and forth and a little propane doesn't hurt. The brake side is the thin side and I do that one 2nd so I can hit that one square or you may ruin the carrier.....
