My X is sick I think.
Stock compression is listed as 178 pounds. I can kick mine by sneezing. I think its time for a rebuild. She just won't start. She is getting nice blue spark and plenty of fuel. Kick and kick but no go. :(
Last time i went riding I stalled in the woods and that was it. Seemed like compression is gone or very minimal. Once in while as i kick this trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro out of it it will thump a few times and seem like it wants to start. This motor is stock and has never been taken apart.
What do you folks think the minimal compression would need to be to start the motor? Does anyone else think I am on th right track?
Thanks
I'm going to have to ride 4 wheels this weekend. Does anyone feel sorry for me?

Well you cant get a true compression test on a 350x because they have the decompressinon thingy. You need to disconect that before you test it.

Make sure the decompression cable that runs from by the kickstarter to the head is not stuck. Check the lever on the head too.

Try turning the compression dampner to the "H" mark. Then slowly kick your bike over until it feels like the piston is top dead center. Then give it a good kick. When I have mine on the standard or "S" setting it feels like it has no compression and doesn't like to start either.

Is there an adjustent for compression? I unhooked the cable to see if it made a diff. but to no avail?
H to S ?? HELP!
