on to my 6th restoration! ok well like 2 months ago i saw a 87 250sx forsale on CL. i went checked it out had the 200x frond ened allready on her, but the guy for some DUMB reason ripped out the countershaft without splitting the cases lol wow. the funny thign is i have seem this 4 times with these bikes. so i threw him $100 for it. brought her home and started to strip her down here is the progress soo far.

ok she def isnt much to look at right now, check out this amazing wend job on the cracked frame HAHAHA trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotr ailpro idiots. a 5 yr old could weld better. so i called my buddy and got a free 85 250sx frame in great condition for free along with the entier swingarm assembly.

Very good work, especially on repairing that "weld". I've been wanting to see another SX build. Mine is still a few months off...

Why are you using the '85 swingarm? Was the one on the '87 toast?

^ Honda made it easy for us, there kinda like a Cougar - There insides still work well but the outside is a bit faded, cracked and droopy :D

Looking really sweet!!, what are ya gonna run for fenders and such??

hey guys thanks a lot for all the comments. liek i said this is my 5th complte rebuild and the first one that i have been keeping a photo log of the entire process.

as far as the 85 swingarm,, the 87 was in very bad shape, witch was a shame cause i would have liked to keep it cause of the better sealed brake drum. but oh well i got the 85 one for free. including the entire diff, axle etc .

as far as plastics. i am going to keep her the traditional 87 color scheme. white clarke tank, rad rear and front fenders maier, and a blue seat with blue fork boots, i am going to be getting headligt assemby from a 350x for the front instead of the stock 250sx headlight.

anyone know where i can find a white 350x headlight assemby? PM me if you got one or know where to grab one.

anyways, here are some new pics of some newely sandblasted parts getting ready for PC. all of these are going to be 70%gloss black.

the hubs and the rear drum.

the battery box only a couple acid marks in the metal, very minor the PC will fill them right up

and the rocker arm cover, missed a couple minor spots that i got to hit tommaro. trying to find some dark gun metal grey high temp PC for the entiire engine.

i bought it from summit racing.com like 3 yrs ago, its the exact same cabinet from harborfreight though. great cabinet! never have had one problem with it. just have to replace the ceramic nozzles every 6 months or so.

i paid $200 from summit racing for it and i buy my blast media from harbor freight, 50lbs of ground glass is $39.99 there.
