muratic acid from the pool supply place (going through this right now) I'm going to use red kote for mine to prevent rust problems in the future

its strong stuff so you have to keep your eye on it ...... 2-5 min maybe longer. do a search there is alot of info on it

I just got done using a POR-15 kit I bought on eBay. Comes with everything you need to do it right. Not sure if I would buy the kit again, though, since the other 2 jugs beside the little can of sealer are just a degreaser and a mild acid rinse. So you could probably get away with using off the shelf degreaser and acid, and just use their sealer. Here's a couple pics.

Yeah the kit was about $50 shipped from seller por-outlet. I am pretty happy with it; turned out pretty well. Like I said above I don't know if I would buy the kit again since you could save money buying off the shelf degreaser and acid and just buy the little can of sealer. I didn't realize that's all the 2 containers were until I read the labels on them. The 8oz can of sealer was about perfect for the 200x tank. Not must waste.

It was pretty easy to use and came with good instructions that I followed to the T. The hardest part was getting the excess sealer out so it didn't puddle in the bottom of the tank. You would think you could just tip the tank upside down and the excess would run out but if it's just a little bit in the bottom it doesn't want to because of the location of the filler hole.

K, thanks for the help....also wondering im snorkeling my trike. will i need to seal the air box or will it be fine?
