Hi, if you have never rebuilt a bottomend on your 85-86 ATC 250r. And if you need a rebuilt crank. I have found that they are covered with a tin plate and if that is damaged the crank is destroyed. and I couldnt find Anybody that could rebuild that could garuntee that the crank would be fine, Now I just spent $300 for a brand new crank. I don't know how cranksm get rebuilt but when I first found out about my bad crank I thought it would only cost $150 to rebuild my crank but now it $300. Its weird also because I see aleast half of the ATC 250r cranks on ebay saying they need to be rebuilt or needs new rod or etc. but if my case is completely true then you just bought a junk crank?

but anyways just want to let you guys know what I have been going through the last couple of weeks.

take care

this is why Honda does not sell a rod kit.

the cranks can be rebuilt but you need a crank jig...good luck finding one

All the newer crank's have tin on them.Your supose to cut the pin off with a sawzall or band saw.To cut the half's apart then press them off, one half at a time. That's what the guy who I take my crank's to does.
