Hi everyone I have been looking for a three wheeler for a long time now and I jumped a on a sweet 50 dollar deal on a 85 200x. The only issues it really had was that the throttle was stuck wide open, the shifter is broke off, rear brake is locked up and partly on so if you ride it for more then 5 min the back tires lock up solid, and here is the real stumper I got....... The PULLSTART is broke? I am confused because according to the spec page it should have a kickstart not a pull start. So I am thinking it might be a 200s motor on the 200x frame. Also the plastics are in rough shape. But overall it took us about an hour to get the sucker going and for 50 bucks Im stoked on the buy. This winter I plan to take it apart and paint the frame and clean it up. Pics are on the way..

does it have a clutch(manual)?

Probably auto x. All the stock 200x trikes were hand or manual clutch. 200 m, s and other semiauto engines will fit to eliminate the manual clutch. Pics??? Someone has likely modded the trike.

No it does not.... it has the semi auto all down trans. monoshock rear suspension, seat says 200x, ummmm..... it has the fake plastic shrouds on the tank. Im having trouble making time to get over there and get pics so bare with me.

Gosh darn it! I want the 200x with the 9.6:1 ratio!!!!! So I could just put it back to the other engine rsather easily it sounds like. What about the 250r engine? I will do some searching to check my options.

just the 200x frame is worth alot more then 50 bucks. pick up the frame and grab a better engine.

Could do what I'm working on at the moment, and use the engine from an XR200R, but you'd have to get the kick start shaft and side covers from the 200x to make it work. Or just use the top end and leave it auto. That's probably the easiest route, and just as fun, just not as fast on top end.

Yea I realized it was worth the money so I bought it. I need to check out some options as far what is possible with the engine. Is the xr 200 engine have a higher compression ratio or something? Im going to see if I can find a 200x engine and get the clutch hooked back up. Or maybe I can find some other honda engine to rig up to it. I have a bunch of other crap that I need to do first though like the brakes and shifter fix. Over the winter I can hopefully get to it in between the my chopper and dirt bike.

For $50 you got a whopper of a deal.

Yeah, the xr motor has 10.5 compression, a little better cam, and bigger carb. Oh, and a .5mm bigger piston. But without The side covers for the kick start side and the shaft itself, it won't work. The kick start goes the wrong way. Honestly I'd probably just put a good top end on your auto to get it goin at first. At least you'll be able to ride it. Oh, and to fix that rear brake, get a caliper from the front of a CR80. Can find them cheap on ebay and usually have pads with them.

I just had her going, That did a hack job weld job on the shifter before so I had to do an = bubble gum gas weld but it holds. Only problem now is the float bowl and petcock are leaking.

So will the cr80 caliper bolt right on? If so I can piclk on up soon. Im going to try to get the rear brake assembly off weds and get it soaked and cleaned up to see if I can get it working.

The auto engine is going to be fine for this season. But come winter Im going to want a clutch...trailpro

The cr80 caliper bolts straight to the rear bracket of the 200x. I wound up having to cut my caliper bolts on mine because they were frozen in the caliper, but managed to save the bracket. The bracket on the cr80 caliper LOOKS identical, till you try and put it on. It's not big enough to go around the rotor.

looks like a good deal, that looks almost identical to the engine on my 185s , that engine was most likely rigged on there, do you know where to check to see how many cm 3 it is, look under the carburator pipe that connects into the engine if it is 180cm3 it is off a 185s, if it is 192cm3 it is off a 200s

Its a 200m motor, see the starter mount in front of the head Wait are you saying that I can put a starter on it?
How about I jump on the specs page and just match up the engine code?!?!
I want to put a xr 200 engine on it so I am going to start looking into that. Im off to work on her today so wishh me luck. I intended on fabbiong up a new grab bar and a detachable cooler rack but I forgot the metal at work. Oh well.
