The morel mushroom that grows in Michigan is ok. You must make sure you know what you are doing as there are others that look somewhat the same. I only eat mushrooms that come in a can.

Oh the Morels are so good and thanks for the comments. Our machines are not the prettiest you will see but man we had a heck of a time on those trails up there! Thinking of going back up sometime this fall to do a little riding. The only thing about the state park we go to won't let you ride the atc or atv vehicles in the park, but the pics came from state ground with so many logging trails and hills it was great.

Thanks Leevamado

When you go again, make sure those so called logging trails are open to ATVs. On state land in MI the law is all trails are closed to ATVs UNLESS MARKED AS OPEN TO ATV USE.

There are 4 wheeler trails up there on all the state grounds. I posted a link to one of the maps. Been going up there mushrooming for 4 to 5 years and my Dad for 20 to 25 years. I have yet to see the po po up there but they would have to be on ATV's themselves to get down most of those trails anyways. I will check into it more for the next time. It's not like we were tearing up the grounds anyways. The open area's are gas wells and that is where we went the fastest. We stayed at Big Bear Lake and the trails there were clearly marked. check out the pfd of the map in the link below. I have my ORV sticker still and ready to go again. Thanks for the concern guys I wouldn't want to give 3 wheeler's more of a bad wrap by pissing people off riding where I am not supposed to, but these logging trails are so deep into the state ground that no one lives near them. The map is a defined trail that runs by the roads. Those were ok but not as fun as the logging trails.

Here is a link to the new state law relating to ORVs and riding on the roads.
I have that same map and there are many more, but there are also many so called "logging roads" or "two tracks" that are not designated as ORV trails.

http://legislature.mi.gov/doc.aspx?2007-HB_4323 scroll down to Public Act and click on PDF and you can read or copy the new law.
