i have a 84 honda 200s, I checked the primary with a multi meter and got .4 so that was good but the secondary read 8.6 so this is over the spec so is this bad...and will this cause weak spark, should it be replaced? Thanks

leave me rephrase...my cdi igniter unit isn't giving me correct resistance according to the service manual. long story short... trike sat for two years, I replaced plug, cleaned carb, air screw is 2 1/4 turns out, changed gas and oil. trike fired up, discovered an intake leak so I replaced the o rings in the intake boot and carb. now it ran almost perfect, the next morning it wouldn't fire. so it finally started with a new plug and ran ok but didn't have full power. I took the plug back out and it's black as black can be. so I went through the ignition system with my multimeter and found the cdi unit is wacky some prongs that I measure like the manual says don't have any readings...so is this cdi bad and would the trike still run with it bad? cause it runs just not good and I think I'm loosing spark or it's getting too much fuel. I put the plug against the head and give it a pull and I see weak yellow spark. this dang thing is driving me up a wall cause I get it running and then something else screws up. sorry soo breif but I have to be somewhere and I'm running late from working on this PITA trike...lol by the way primary and secondary read out fine @ 0.4
