I posted on here a few months ago asking for some advice on Yamaha 225, Honda 250r, 250sx and 350x questions. Basically asking if bigger is better for trail riding and hauling deer from the bush. You guys said a 250sx if the beast I am looking for.

Last night I got my prize, I took you guys' advice and found a 250sx for $750 Canadian. Now there are a few problems such as missing a front break, a little bit of a rear differential leak and I don't know anything about the kick start, but it does not start the bike. plastic is a little sunfaded, but this is just a diamond in the rough in my eyes.

I sent it off to the shop this morning to see what they can do for me and how much it will cost. I don't have the skill or know how to fix it myself. BUT I would like to learn, so I got the service manual and I hope that once this is all tuned up and fixed by the shop I can start to do some fun modifications like I'm sure you guys do.

I noticed the gas tank is coated on the inside with something....the guy selling it said it was a coating on the inside so that if the metal gas tank were to rust apart, this casing would still be there....does anyone know what this is called ?

The sealer would probably be made by Kreem, Redkote, or POR-15. It basically makes a tank within the tank to seal up any rust or pinholes. I am in the process of doing it right now to my 200x tank.
