Well, I FINALLY finished the rebuild of my '84 250r. I ended up using pieces from an '83 as well, but overall it's still mostly an '84.
It's definitely not a restore - I've seen the pictures/video of you guys with PRISTINE trikes that look like they belong on a showroom floor! I can only dream of restoring mine to that type of condition some day, but for now, I'm happy with simply having a trike that is tight and ridable.
As with many people, the hardest part was removing that damn swingarm pivot bolt - it was rusted solid and the only way to get the swingarm off was to sawzall it out. I'm definitely going to be removing that pivot bolt each and every winter and giving it a nice coat of lube to prevent it from seizing ever again.
Here's a couple videos of my favorite toy - I hope to get many years of enjoyment out of it! I took it easy for my first ride with it - I wanted to make sure everything was put together OK before taking it on any jumps. But since everything held together nicely I can't wait to get it somewhere that I can REALLY put it through it's paces :naughty:
