there has been a 350x sitting for ten years in a shed. i decided to pull it out and mess with it. it turns out the next day the piston siezed and then i decided to drain the oil but it turned out there was more water in the engine and thats what caused the piston to sieze. poring oil down the spark plug sleeve never worked and my guess is everything inside the engine has rusted so that means either i rebuild this engine or buy another 350x engine off ebay. this 350x is a 85.

get a price for all bearings in the motor.new piston, rings.and then decide if you want to tackle it or buy a new to you engine.its a challenge to get an old motor running, but sometimes thats half the fun.

If you get another motor, how do you know if it is any better than the one you have. I say rebuild if keeping for the long run.

Tear it down, start fresh. Top end overhauls on these are not to costly if you just doing pistons and rings. But if its been sitting 10 yrs without getting ran you should get the valves done with new valve seals, IMO. If the bottom end had water in it, more than likely the crank is rusted, along with any other bearing that is in there. Good luck.

the bike was smoking like crazy when it was last ran.
