a buddy of mine gave me alott of 200x parts 83-85 wondering about a few of the parts he use to flat track and 1/4 mile race.

first thing is the best is a 28mm roundslide mikuni and a mossbarger mfg manifold for it also got 2 stock carbs almost new a few tranny gears shift forks pistons rings, breaks, throttle and cable, taillights and brackets around 50 jets, 3 sprockets, and a few other random things havent dug threw all of the box yet he has a mikuni 28mm flatslide he said and he will sell it for 10 bucks i have to go back tomaroo with the 10buck for the 28mm carbs out ridin and didnt have no cash on me.

and the one part that realy has me wondering he tried to explain it to me but i have never heard or seen of this its a round 1/4inch thick with 4 biger holes and 4 little holes and one big hole in the middle he said it went behind the fly wheel to make it rev as fast as possible it has japan engraved on it

i will have pics up ether later tonight or tomaroo morning i dont have the 2 28mm carbs yet but i will tomaro i do have everything else

that part is a light flywheel.if it lets you have higher rpm's.you replace the stock with the lighter one, dont use both.if im thinking of the right thing.hard to tell without pics.nice price on the parts though, cooool

That plate is strange .... I would also say to rev faster lighten the flywheel not add to it? the intake is very cool you don't usually get a brand stamp on the ones I have or have seen. The carb should work good on your X with the cam in it I am going to try a 30mm with the xr cam and kerker exhaust. With all the jetting you have done lately you should be getting good at it

ya i have defintly been geting good at the jetting i am going here in a little bit to get the 28mm carb hopefully carbs if he found the flatslide the plate im gona ask a few more questions a bout i mean he did build his own race motors so im sure he knows what it is and the intake is perty sweet and the carbs is reallly sweet

yeah, a piece of rubber hose like radiator hose. thats what mine has. on that flywheel weight, that looks identical to whats on the back of a stock 200x flywheel. it would make sense to remove that for faster revs( less rotating mass). hmm, i happen to be building an engine now, maybe i'll grind mine off and see what happens.
adamd, any chance you still have that xtra cam you mentioned in another post? im in desperate need of one.

ok thats what i thought for the hose. and on the weight it might have been to remove that im not sure he said 4 pop revit things held it on it looks like a stock pice to me being it has japan ingraved in it. u may try removing that he said it makes it rev extremly fast and he use to do it for his flat track bike runing a kenny harmon cam to keep alittle low end grunt. he said rev wise it acts like a 2stroke like that idk if u wana try it it might be a cool mod it does have a few little grind marks so if you do it defintly give me a headsup on this mod. i do have that extra cam really dont wana get rid of it.

edit: i was talking to him about the carb and he said he choked it down (thats what he called it) it can hook to a stock air box with this adapter on it wich made me really happy

adamd

it has a addapter on it and its tight on the boot so it may be bigger than a 28mm i will get pics up in the morning the normal pice is huge compared to the stock boot i have no clue how to messure a crab? im just going by his word i will see hom many mm it is bigger than stock at the airbox boot

and i have got decent at jetting finaly my new ? about jetting is with this bigger carb will i run smaller jets than with the stock carb ? or the same? or bigger? i have never had inything but a stock carb on a bike so i dont know about jetting changes i know how to jet a bike just need a little info on adding the bigger carb

AutoXer

bigger carb = more air = more fuel = more power!!! so you should be able to up the jet slightly

adamd

Hi everyone, im new here and its my first post. Im currently completely restoring a 85 200x. I have 10:1 50 over piston,xr200r cam and springs, ported head and aftermarket pipe. Question is wher to start with the jetting? oh yeah, i have a new carb a 26mm mikuni instead of a stock 24mm kehin.

adamd

well i can tell you jetting isnt easy i had a long go round with it and still aint got it but maybe 90% right every bike is differnt my 200x has bout th same motor besides the port work with my stock carb im runing a 125 main with the 26 mm id proly strart around a 135 or so its better to be rich and lower the jet than to run a bike too lean and burn stuff up

the 28mm carb came off a built race bike and has a 140 main so u shouldnt have to go higher than that but jet rich and then lean it out but not to lean
