My 250r was missing most of the clip that holds the drive gear on the motor so I ordered one from Honda.
Went to put it on... but I can't. If I line up the holes with the gear, it doesn't fit the splines. If I match the splines, the screw holes don't line up.
The clip appears to match up perfectly to the piece I removed.
WTF???

your countershaft should have a slot cut in it. mount sprocket push all the way on, then slip retainer lock on and rotate it in the slot until bolt holes line up.

Just a week ago I was helping my buddy with his KXF250, I let him do the "easy" stuff like graphics, chain and sprocket etc etc.
I was putting it in neutral and I noticed the sprocket clip (another attachment method) seemed open. I looked a little further and said "WTF did you do with this?" He honestly thought the clip just had to rest on the splines and didn't have to go in a groove or anything  All he had to do was push it towards the sprocket.
He wouldn't have gotten too far the way it was.
I guess even the simplest stuff some guys don't know how to do is easily overlooked.....

It happens to the best of us... Who here hasn't pulled and pulled or kicked and kicked trying to start a trike or quad only to realize the kill switch was off?

its called learning, it is what it is!!
It is better to ask then do it wrong, toss a chain , and break a case.

Guilty! :w00t:
Just this past weekend I watched my son trying to start his 110 (15-20 pulls), finally I had enough and reached over and flipped the switch. He said "Oh Daaaad! Why didn't you tell me!" I said "It was funnier that way and plus next time you'll check the kill switch prior to yanking your arms off..lol".
Seriously, no one was born knowing all the answers, that's why we all get together here and ask questions. It is always a learning process.
