big red in a minivan

I found an 85 big red to use as a parts bike, couple days later I found another big red for parts around the same area so I attempted to pick them both up in our minivan ( SUCCESS) The 1st one was an 86 frame, fender, rack, seat, wheels, tank, front axle/hub, & 200s front end? and the second was the whole bike. Check out the pics. Had to loosen the handlebars to make it fit.

I did something similar last year when I picked up my FatCats. I drove in 4 to 6 inches of snow to see these things in my LR3 (Land Rover). I worked out a deal with the seller and then the guy says "Well, you're obviously not taking them with you today," pointing to my SUV.

Oh, don't be so sure pal, I say. A 13mm wrench to lower the bars and 15 minutes for some heavy lifting and shifting...got them both in the back for the ride home. Learned that inhaling gas fumes for an hour makes your head hurt. Shoulda took a picture.

Yeah, everyone needs a truck.
